I love photographing this family! The kids had grown quite a bit within the year, and middle school can be such a fun age because they enjoy taking photos and are becoming more in tune with what poses they like. Tracie wanted fall leaves surrounding her family portrait that would hang above her mantle, so I quickly thought of the fall leaves near Capitol Lake, which happen to be in the parking lot next to Waterstreet Cafe. When you looked at the lot at first, it was difficult to lose focus of all the cars and parking meters in the background. However a few steps in a different direction, and voila! Photography Magic is done. Sometimes life is about what you want to “focus” on. 😉
